About Me

Wearing these knits will bring a smile to your face and a lift to your day!

The Short Story

I'm a Kingston, Ontario based designer/maker of embroidered wall art and luxury knitted and embroidered hats, scarves and accessories. I work primarily with natural fibres and vintage or upcycled beads and buttons.

I love designing new patterns -- getting an idea, planning a project, and crafting an object. I've done this for many years with sewing and embroidery, and more recently became enthralled with designing knitwear.

The Novella

I was born in Montreal, spent a decade of my youth in southern California, and since then have lived on both Canadian coasts and many places in between. I'm inspired by beautiful natural fibre yarns, by the natural environment and by international embroidery and knitting traditions.

I've been involved in embroidery, knitting and other fibre arts since I was very young – I remember learning to embroider in first grade at school, and learning a wide range of needlework techniques (sewing, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, tatting, macrame) from my mother's eldest sister, who did everything from millinery work to crocheting doll clothes.

I studied haute couture, pattern making and millinery in Ottawa in the mid-1990s, taking several millinery courses taught by Eva Ferguson at Richard Robinson's Academy of Fashion Design.
